\nStaying up on interior design trends can seem daunting, what was in yesterday is out today.  Here are some tips from the pros on what is out and in for interior decorating trends:<\/p>\n

What’s In<\/strong><\/p>\n

• Mixed Metals –<\/strong> Metals are a great way to decorate any room whether it is a dining table, coffee or end table, side tables or even beds, nothing adds flair like metal. But designers are suggesting that you can add interest to a room by not trying to be “too matching”.  Mix and layer silver, gold, black and brass for a great contemporary look.  Add a bronzed finished to a metallic glass table to add interest and style.<\/li>\n
• Indigo –<\/strong> you love your blue jeans, why not add indigo to your interior design. This color matches well with white marble, mother of pearl, pink, cream, gray, sage and coral.<\/li>\n
• Smokey Glass –<\/strong> Add a bit of mystery or intrigue to any room with smoked glass table tops or accent pieces.<\/li>\n
• Painted Rugs and Accessories –<\/strong> Add a rug inspired by some of the best impressionist painters for a quick and affordable update to your room. Paintings, art work and accent pieces using this theme can also make a stylish statement.  Shower curtains, bed spreads and other pieces can easily be added to include this new trend.<\/li>\n
• Destination Themed Colors –<\/strong> bring that vacation home with Mediterranean Blue, Sea Green, Flamingo Pink and Sandy Beach beiges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  What’s Out<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Chevron Print –<\/strong> for years this print was all the rage, but most designers agree that its 15 minutes of fame has come and gone.<\/li>\n
  • Text as D\u00e9cor –<\/strong> This fad was sparked by interior design shows, but decorators feel that this trend will soon be a thing of the past. Can you spell O-U-T!<\/li>\n
  • Ombre –<\/strong> This style crept into our lives in hair coloring, clothing and interior designs, but most pros agree that this style is well, out of style.<\/li>\n
  • Overexposed Patterns<\/strong> – Patchwork Persian rugs or Moroccan black and whites are no longer trending in home design.<\/li>\n
  • Shaggy Rugs –<\/strong> They may feel great, but most designers feel that this design trend is old hat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
