Every now and again you get that hankering for some good old fashioned home style cooking, that kind of stick to your ribs comfort food that makes you instantly feel at home. You may be surprised to learn that you don’t have to go to the bayou or travel to the deep woods of Tennessee to get great (we mean great) Southern style Soul Food, just head to Les Sisters’ Southern Kitchen in Chatsworth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Walk in to this small restaurant and you will know instantly that you are in the right place, if the bright colored walls covered with beads or the painting of the man from New Orleans playing up some tunes on his piano didn’t get you, the smells from the kitchen sure would. These three sisters have been cooking up the best Southern\/Soul food in the San Fernando Valley. Let’s talk about the food, oh the food … barbeque, mac n cheese, smothered meatloaf or chicken, gumbo, shrimp etoufee, jambalaya, muddy water, red beans and rice, collard greens, cat fish and the real rooster sauce, move over sriracha Red Rooster Louisiana Hot Sauce is in the house! Save room for dessert they have buttermilk and sweet potato pie.<\/p>\n

Nellie can wash that man right out of her hair, or you can have a “hair of the dog that bit you” but we are pretty sure that a visit Les Sisters’ and smothered anything with collards and mac n cheese will fix whatever ails you.<\/p>\n
