Are you tired of seeing your family’s noses in an iPhone or computer?  Since you can't beat it, you might as well join it with these family fun apps.

Go searching for bugs with a free app called Project Noah (projectnoah.org) which helps you identify bugs.  Simply snap a photo and the app sends an ID.

If you love a good ghost story, you can turn off the lights in your Canoga Park apartment, grab a flash light and blankets and tell some ghastly ghost stories.  Check out some ghost story apps here.

Summer is the perfect time to gather the family together for a night of star watching.  Head to Griffith Park (website) or the beach at night to gaze at the stars. There is a great app which helps  you identify the constellations. Simply point at a star (or planet) and the app will identify which constellation you are looking at.  You might be surprised to discover that some of those stars are actually the planets; Jupiter and Saturn.
